Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Los Angeles
The Society’s Thrift Store has been in continuous operation since 1917 and serves more than 100,000 customers a year. The Thrift Store not only contributes to the local economy by furnishing a ready source of low cost goods and more than 100 jobs to residents from the surrounding low-income communities, but helps fund the Society’s charitable programs and services.
The Thrift Store was created to help fund the charitable programs of the Society, including St. Vincent’s Cardinal Manning Center for homeless children, women and men, Circle V Ranch for poor and disadvantaged children and the Society’s Conferences serving needy families in their local communities. In addition, the Society’s volunteer conferences rely heavily on the Store to assist with the provision of free clothing, furniture and appliances to the needy families supported by the conferences, such as Hurricane Katrina victims who currently are resettling in Los Angeles.
Your In-Kind Donation of clothing, furniture, books, appliances or computers can be used to assist a working poor family in need or help support the vital programs and services run by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
