Family Housing Program
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Family Housing Program employs two models to prevent and end homelessness among families with children in Los Angeles County: Permanent Supportive Housing and Transitional Housing.
The Permanent Supportive Housing Program utilizes a ‘Housing First’ evidence based practice approach which seeks to house and keep homeless people in permanent housing by providing supportive services. This proven approach helps facilitate independence by addressing barriers to sustaining that housing thereby effectively breaking the potential recurrence of homelessness.
The Transitional Housing Program provides a safe and stable transitional apartment living environment for families with children, while providing support and opportunities to attain their goals that will lead to permanent housing elsewhere in Los Angeles County.
