We all knew him as “Quintero”, never knowing we were calling him by his last name all these years. And there were many of them: Ezequiel Quintero worked for St. Vincent de Paul’s LA and Long Beach thrift stores for 32 years before his retirement last week. He reflected that the first female stores director, Dorothy Llamas, hired him at $2.35 an hour. “Thank you to all I had the privilege to work with. I couldn’t ask for more. The Lord is good.” Thank you. We will miss your wit and wisdom.
