Today, September 9, 2019, members of SVdPLA celebrated the Feast Day of the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Blessed Frederic Ozanam.
He founded the Society in 1833 in Paris, France to challenge the poverty he saw in the streets. Frederic organized the first “Conference of Charity” to help the poor of all religions as well as create an avenue that assisted people to express their faith and grow spiritually through acts of charity.
