Halloween plans will look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be spooky fun! You can always walk around the neighborhood in your costume, have a virtual Halloween party, or celebrate indoors with your household. No matter how you choose to party, make sure to utilize thrift stores and slow fashion options to ensure you celebrate with the planet (and your wallet!) in mind.
Thrifting or creating your Halloween costumes and decor instead of buying them new from retail stores has many benefits. It diverts waste from our landfills, exercises your creativity, usually funds a charitable cause, won’t break the bank, and you could probably wear the thrifted pieces of your costume more than once a year.
St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores in Los Angeles and Long Beach are the perfect places to turn your sustainable Halloween plans into a reality! We have seasonal decorations and aisles of clothing waiting to be transformed into the ultimate costume, and revenue helps those experiencing homelessness and poverty.
