Free Distribution

Free Distribution is a program sponsored by Vincentian Services in conjunction with the Los Angeles Thrift Store. We offer a clothing voucher program, available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 pm at the LA Thrift Store. To participate, individuals must present a voucher request form from an active Conference, a Catholic church, or an affiliated organization. This voucher can only be used for clothing and shoes, with a limit of $40 per person and $200 for a family of five.

Furniture vouchers are available to individuals who receive a home visit from an active Conference. Please note that not all requested items are guaranteed, as the Vincentian Services administrator will provide as many items as possible based on the store inventory. All deliveries are curbside only, and we are unable to deliver to a second or third floor. To utilize these programs, please use the following forms to complete a request. Once this is completed or if you have questions or concerns, please reach out or submit a request to your District Coordinator or Vincentian Services Administrative Assistant.

Council Financial Assistance Program

This program does not provide continuous rental assistance. Its purpose is to prevent homelessness by offering financial aid to individuals or families in need. The funds can be used to catch up on rental arrears, help with the costs of moving to a more suitable housing, or assist marginally employed homeless individuals and families who are unable to save for move-in costs. The program also aims to help individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless. It provides financial assistance for rent or mortgage payments to individuals who have a source of income sufficient to cover their monthly housing costs but are facing eviction due to non-payment, and do not qualify for rental or housing assistance from other services. The funds can be used for current and past-due rent, moving expenses including housing and utility deposits, as well as storage fees associated with basic utilities such as gas and electricity.

*If this is your first time utilizing the Council Financial Assistance, please connect with your District Coordinator to ensure that all details and requirements for the program are met.

This program is sponsored by the Council of Los Angeles in conjunction with the sponsoring Conference. The intent is not to subsidize families indefinitely.  Whoever is accepted into the program must have a realistic opportunity to become self-sufficient within a reasonable period. The maximum monthly assistance provided by the Council is $500 with a maximum period of twelve (12) months.
