The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in Paris in 1833 by college student Frédéric Ozanam, who believed in putting faith into action. Over a century later, that same spirit of service lives on in Los Angeles.
Since 1904, Vincentian volunteers have walked alongside our neighbors in need—offering food, shelter, clothing, and connection across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties. From emergency assistance to long-term support, our goal is always the same: help people get back on their feet with dignity.
Thanks to generous donations and community support, we help thousands each year take the next step toward stability and self-sufficiency. Whether you give time, resources, or household items, your support helps good work happen every day, allowing us to provide financial and emotional support, food, clothing, furniture, appliances and resources to connect those disadvantaged to helpful resources in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
